This was a one day read for me, high action and super fast paced. My boyfriend read this when he was younger and encouraged me to try it, so for me it was missing the nostalgia and felt a bit middle grade. I thought the time jumping was quite poorly done but overall this was an enjoyable read

Having previously read most of everything else by Matthew Reilly, I was curious to know how he was going to tackle a book aimed at a younger audience where we can't have heads 'exploding like overripe watermelons' on nearly every page. Although this is indeed significantly less gory and graphic than his other works, this maintained the high-octane thrills and action that he's known for writing. Despite having less than no interest in racing, I was definitely pulled into this story as Jason Chase goes from one race to another while dealing with other things in between races. Although this does play out as most underdog stories do, this made for a very enjoyable read. I was quite impressed by this one.

Soooooo cute and just as enjoyable 2nd time. Jason and Bug are GREAT characters and the action keeps moving. I love all the little things to do to figure things out and how he never ever gives up.

A GREAT "Feel good" type book, puts a smile on my face.

What a fantastic feel good story!! Wonderful storyline, wonderful characters. Typical Matthew Reilly insane action with everything working out perfectly in the end. Good for ALL ages, if you don't mind just a little bit of cussing. HIGHLY recommend to anyone looking for a story with heart and soul.

Super clichéd and fairly predictable, but a very fun read.

I understand that hover car races are the top sport in this world, but I really do question that line where they say the invention of the hover car was more significant than the printing press.

This is, without a doubt, my favorite Matthew Reilly book. It's a fantastic read and I would recommend it to anyone who loves adventure and a fast-paced plot that twists on every page!

I fucking loved every second of this. I rarely jump out of my chair to cheer for the main character but I did that a lot with this one.

There is something about that book that always manages to lift me up when I am feeling absolutely awful. Maybe it's because its a simpler story than some of the other stuff I read, maybe it's because of the sheer speed the books races at (figuratively and literally). Whatever it is, thank you Matthew.
