Incredible boring. This short story was a retelling of Sherlock's first case, which meant missing out on the deduction of Watson and Holmes. Basically, Sherlock just retold the story, a story that was not really suspenseful.

Well this was a fun origin story! I loved reading about young Holmes.

This is an odd bit to have in the Sherlock Holmes collection as Sherlock besides doing his parlor trick of deducing things about his host when he first meets him doesn't really "solve" this case.
It is a simply a retelling of events, with no real mystery nor case.
This was also supposed to be Sherlock's first case, but I prefer the Young Sherlock Holmes movie's version.
It didn't take me that long, but I had other reads that just drew me more than this story.
