Me lo he pasado fenomenal.

this story has a bit of a laugh at British aristocracy, whose lives are portrayed as vapid and lived with High Drama when none was needed at all. almost nothing happens. the writing is fairly effective in conveying character, often through dialogue, and it's quite silly at times. I was reading entirely for the Christmas elements (although I do plan to read more of Nancy Mitford's writing), and there were some brief moments of Christmas detail (presented with the same flippant and somewhat cynical appraisal as everything else). minus some points for derogatory language about groups of people.
