Tiernan's journey to Colorado will not be one I soon forget. Orphaned my unloving parents, she makes her way to her step Uncle's secluded home to live with him and her two step cousins. Penelope Douglas does dark characters and taboo relationships brilliantly, and this is no exception. I didn't particularly like these characters, nor feel empathy for their circumstance, but the setting made this book work for me. I could feel the cold, biting wind and smell the pine trees. It made me want to book a trip to the Rockies, but...haha, maybe not with these folks. If you are looking for a steamy, slow burn taboo read, look no further.
