Can’t believe I waited so long to read this! It’s is genuinely one of my new favorite books. So witty from the first and just deeply enjoyable to read. Can’t wait to read it again! If you love a gothic horror and speculative fiction and appreciate just really poetic writing, you’ll love it.

Knowing that this book once upon a time was controversial is unfathomable to me. The best way to put it is that this book was tame.

I was expecting some great analysis of human kind and vanity, when I really just was reminded that men think their gonads are bigger than they are.

Maybe Victorian classics are not for me. I’m so bummed. I really wanted to love this book.
