The kind of thought experiment-y non narrative story ala Omelas I'm not a huge fan of. Sometimes if the question they ask is especially chilling or thought provoking I'll have a higher opinion but for me this one simply isn't that compelling. The characters aren't deep enough for me to feel invested in what the princess would do, and the answer as to what I would do is so obvious to me as to be uninteresting. I don't care how much I hate this other person he's marrying I don't want someone I love to be eaten by a fucking tiger lol. Well written enough, just really not for me.

A pair of mind-teasing open-ended short stories by Frank R. Stockton.

"The Lady or the Tiger" is the famous one. At least I first heard about Lady/Tiger from another book. In my childhood my dad had [b:The Lady or the Tiger? And Other Logic Puzzles|678521|The Lady or the Tiger? And Other Logic Puzzles|Raymond M. Smullyan|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1387731024l/678521._SX50_.jpg|664515] and I had tried to read some puzzles (but failed to finish the book.) although I didn't know that the lady/tiger was based on Mr. Stockton's story at that time.

"The Discourager of Hesitancy" is the less-famous one. I think this story is more hilarious than "The Lady or the Tiger" and offering similar choices and additional rule for the test.
Spoilerthere is The Discourager of Hesitancy, a.k.a. the executioner, that will slay you if you hesitate in choosing. So there are three results: choose wisely, choose unwisely, and failed to choose on time.
