I think it is important to note here that when I rate books on good reads, it is about my personal enjoyment of the book, more than a value judgement. I agree this is an excellent picture book for children, but I just don't have time/energy to spare for this level of amusement on my own. My Goldbug days are over.

I can't gush over this book enough. I've been following artist Freya Hartas on IG as she has been creating the illustrations for it over the past year and when I saw the finished book in a local bookshop, I snatched it up. It's a combination of all the best things: thoughtful and creative illustrations, seek-and-find and short, kid-friendly poems on each spread. I read it myself before gifting it and am tempted to buy another just for me, I love the illustrations so much.

Why of course I needed to see a raccoon lounging in a leaf bed! Or rabbits sliding down roots!
