You can’t say which path to take anymore, you just have to follow strangers down theirs, all the way to the end, meaning to the depths of their soul, or your own.I've had to sit with this book for a few days after finishing before I could even begin to say something about it. It's one of those novels that make me wish I was more eloquent so I could review it like it deserves: it's ambitious and so brilliantly written that every sentence feels like a work of art. It's a story with so many stories within it, and they're all thoughtful and vivid and eloquent. This is going to stay with me for a while, I think.

This is the most literary book I’ve read in a while. Early on, the book has commentary about the content of a great book being difficult to explain, and this book fulfilled that promise. It is an intense read covering multiple continents but also a family drama and a book about writing with mysticism and the impact of colonialism and the Holocaust, but, somehow, I never felt overwhelmed by it. Recommend if you like a robust, scholarly, dense read.

Fördolt Är Minnet Av Människan är svår att jämföra med andra böcker på marknaden. I en nästan besatthet jagar huvudkaraktären fortsättningen på en bok som ingen till synes vill vetas vid. Vi lär känna spillrorna av författare, poeter och visionärer där den mytomspunna boken och dess författare står i centrum för en rad mysterium. Boken är skriven med långa, ibland sidvis långa, tankar och dialoger både inom karaktärerna men även karaktärer sinsemellan. Det tog mig många sidor att märka de fattiga miljö beskrivningarna, för trots deras avsaknad var boken färggrann och målande. Den följer inte berättar reglerna som västvärlden byggt upp i den litterära världen, och personligen är jag tacksam för dessa ”regelbrott”. Denna bok blandar den senegalesiska prosan med den franska poesin och skapar en unik läsning som absolut är värd att utforska!
