The history included in this book was really halogen in covering the many ways that racism in housing has been institutionalized for over a century.
... just don't think his possible remedies are sufficient... or possible within this political system. (A lot of the ideas will fall flat if there's not actually full enforcement of dismantling discriminatory practices.)

The book does a great job outlining de jure (or, by law) segregation of African American/Black people in various policies created, enforced and practiced by the U.S. government and/or local governments. The book to me was very engaging the whole way through though it is detailed and deep and some may consider it dry. I think, for me, it was not dry because I spent time reflecting on the people impacted and so I thought of it somewhat of a sad story.
