I’ve heard a lot of bad things about this book, that it’s boring and a letdown compared to the rest of the series. But after reading all the books in quick succession, including all the intensity of book 3, it felt like the perfect time to have a short book about gift hunting and the characters having fun together and not having a ton of terrible things happen. It really felt like they were rebuilding post war, and we were getting a glimpse of it. The only complaint I have is I wish it would’ve been longer. It ended too quickly! I would’ve read a lot more pages of them all cozy in the city together.

Less like a book and more like a little Christmas novella. But not Christmas- Solstice.

It’s fine, but there’s not much happening.

I might get tons of hate for this, but for being such an ACOTAR fan… I hate (okay, that's a such a strong word. Dislike, I dislike this book). I probably could’ve gone without reading it entirely.

Well, no. I mean I could have not. I only say that because it is part of the series and I wouldn’t feel entirely right skipping any of the books to a series. However, this book was completely and utterly unnecessary.

I get that Feyre and Rhys need to have some downtime, and live a somewhat normal life. However, I also feel like this missed the mark? I feel like maybe, this could have been an opening to an entirely new adventure. Perhaps, a novella all on it's own? Maybe it is, and I missed the mark? I just feel that the last 3 books took us on this incredible journey/adventure, just to end up shopping down some street buying lingerie? Like I said, trying to settle down.. and gain some normalcy makes sense after all of this, but this took it too far. I know the last 3 books couldn't slow it done, and so this book makes up for it. This is like taking the Sci-Fi Channel and bringing it to the Hallmark channel. Actually, it's exactly that. It's giving it a Hallmark episode!

I mean this is just like Helen of Troy, 10 years later and none of that was possible.. so why now? You’re telling me, Tamlin as depressed as he is just disappears.. Doesn’t seek revenge? Doesn’t fix his kingdom at some point? Doesn’t even try to (unalive himself) as horrible as that sounds just to get her attention back? Anything? I mean there’s just so many ways to get this story going again. I just find that this love triangle is never ending in my mind. I, for some reason find that Tamlin’s story isn’t quite yet done. He doesn’t just get to wallow, and disappear out of nowhere.
