Actually a 4.5 because [redacted] was just a plot device all along, but otherwise: wow. Stellar writing, VERY clever reveals/doling out information, interesting connections, and such rich inner lives of the characters and their backstory and psyche exploration. Often funny (some 2D George Saunders-type polemic characters), often heart wrenching, often frustrating (if you don't like the miscommunication trope, you might have a little trouble with this book). It's a beefy book but worth the read.
