I would give it 10 if I could.

This was poignant, clever and masterfully written. The story is deeply emotional and arcs beautifully in and out of past and present for the characters in a way that makes them feel real. Rich, literary and incredibly sharp this was one of the best books I read this year. I truly couldn’t put it down.

This book had a lot of potential from the first couple of chapters. I liked the writing style a lot. But, the changing narratives and non-linear timelines made the book harder to be interested in as I continued reading. The scientific/philosophical theorizing was interesting and thoughtful.

Hill might lose you for a minute when he deep dives into several niche topics throughout the course of the book (especially if you aren't interested in psychology, real estate, art/photography, social media, etc.), but he always manages to suck you back into his story that explores anxiety, guilt, love, and more. He does a great job at keeping the reader interested without revealing a lot, to the point that halfway through the book you may not know where the story is headed, but you are definitely heavily invested in the characters he has thoroughly developed by really getting you inside of their brains. Ultimately, the balance of humor and seriousness make Wellness an enjoyable, well-rounded story that I would gladly recommend to anyone with an open mind.
