Beautifully written and solendously paced. I could not put this book down from start to finish. Exploring the nuances of marriage and the ways in which we hide our darkest and most foundational parts of ourselves was fascinating and truthful. Great ending!

An epic of a story— I really enjoyed the varying storylines and approaches to writing you get throughout the book. The “story” centering Evelyn was possibly my favorite. I did feel like this could have been half the size and just as impactful, but the meta art commentary just didn’t work for me so that may be why. But overall, rewarding & interesting!

I like his funny, subversive set -ups and felt his satire was spot-on (even rang a little true....havent we all thought a fireplace might fix our lives, or we *could* be the kind of people who have open shelves). The background of the main characters kept the book from devolving into straight caricature.

I had to switch to audiobook for this book as the writing can be kind of a drag to get through at points with a lot of extraneous information. The social commentary is on point though.
