This is a tricky one to rate. I reallyyyy struggled through the first 75%, but the last 25% was enjoyable, interesting, and moving. A good majority of this is basically about how much it sucks to be middle aged, and I recognize there’s more nuance to it than that, but my GOD. Can I say that the last quarter makes it worth it? Eh.

Se non avessi avuto incombenze personali avrei terminato questo romanzo in brevissimo tempo: si legge davvero molto facilmente ed è scritto quasi come una sitcom. 
Nonostante la storia sembri piuttosto semplice, il racconto di un matrimonio che sta fallendo, in realtà all'interno vi sono tanti spunti di riflessione e un ritratto molto dettagliato dell'età adulta e delle sue difficoltà nell'epoca contemporanea. Forse è anche un po' troppo dettagliato... spesso la narrazione viene messa da parte per lunghi spiegoni su questioni scientifiche (che potevano ridursi a molte righe in meno) e tutti i capitoli dedicati al rapporto fra Jack e suo padre sono di una prolissità non necessaria.
