A good chunk of this book, and the main thread throughout, feels like a typical love story.  Sort of a standard rom-com plot line.  With that said, the many offshoots, the throwbacks to 90s Chicago, and the very "of this time"-ness of it was really enjoyable.  For a 600pg love story, I give it a thumbs up.

Liked the writing style and many parts of the story, but this one really dragged at times. Ready to move on to my next read.
