i started crying at page 54 and then i just couldn’t stop everything hosseini writes is utterly beautiful. i loved all the stories and how they wove into one another, i loved the exploration of youth and age and family and love. i can’t get over the way everything intertwines i feel like i’ve been given a gift but i’ve also been devastated.
the bit with adel was so well done but i feel is slightly lost just because of the magnitude of the main stories like you read it from the child’s perspective but you recognise the truth that his father’s a war criminal and his acceptance of his own acceptance of it if that makes sense it was absolutely agonising
i loved everything about it i feel like rereading it again immediately i just can’t stop thinking about it. just amazing and sensitive and brutal and everything under the sun i want to say thank u to khaled hosseini for writing this book tbh <3
