Character study of a family of mostly barely tolerable people as a reflection of the average person. Perhaps I like it less than I want to because I want to think we are better than these characters and more likable too.

Got to page 123. I intended to push through to the end, but I've already found myself skimming large sections so I can't see the point. There is no plot (this I'm fine with), but also unlikeable, vapid and shallow characters who are utterly uninteresting. I can't see the point in continuing, so I'll cut my losses here.
