This book is perfect for anyone who has not yet read Karen MacInerney's Gray Whale Inn mystery series or just wants a bit of re-read of highlights from the series. There are four short stories and one very short story included in this collection. Each story takes place at a different time of year: summer, fall, winter, spring. The first three stories are previously released short stories: [b:Blueberry Blues|14760318|Blueberry Blues (Gray Whale Inn Mystery #4.5)|Karen MacInerney|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1339986294l/14760318._SX50_.jpg|20410534], [b:Pumpkin Pied|26209070|Pumpkin Pied (Gray Whale Inn Mystery #6.5)|Karen MacInerney|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1441306274l/26209070._SY75_.jpg|46188637], and [b:Iced Inn|43064936|Iced Inn (Gray Whale Inn Mysteries, #8.5)|Karen MacInerney|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1545589084l/43064936._SY75_.jpg|66856346]. The fourth titled Lupine Lies is only released with this collection. As a bonus is a very short (4 pager) story about a haunted story that has potential for a future book.

The series is centered around Natalie Barnes who buys the Gray Whale Inn, a bed and breakfast on Cranberry Island in Maine. Every time you turn around, there is a murder on the island and Natalie just happens to find herself in the center of it all. Her best friend Charlene is always by her side as is her boyfriend later turned husband John who happens to be the local sheriff.

As always, these mysteries are cozy and the characters are familiar faces that fans have grown to love. It was nice to revisit some stories and see how the overall storyline has grown throughout the years. Come fall in love with the mysterious Cranberry Island!
