Even though Book 1 of this series (Comanche Moon) was a better, more epic story, Swift Antelope (Lopez), stole my heart in this one.

3.5 stars.

What I Loved: Swift's journey to becoming the man both him and Amy needed him to be. Amy's journey to overcoming her past to become the woman that Swift needed her to be. The fact that this was not simply one or the other having to overcome something made this story so rich and fulfilling to read!

What I Liked: Seeing Hunter and Loretta again and meeting their children. I also really enjoyed a glimpse into town life set during that time and the adjustments everyone made to make a town work.

Complaints: none for this one!

Why I gave it a 4: I enjoyed every moment of this book. It was nice seeing old characters, meeting new ones, and the journey of Amy and Swift was very satisfying!

Who I would recommend this too: Anyone who likes Historical Romances from the early 90's. This is one of the best ones out there and can be read out of order (though I prefer to read things in order)

Amy & Swift. This couple totally captured my heart in Comanche Moon. It took some warming up though to really get into this. I think with all of their time apart I felt nervous about how it would go. Poor Amy has been through so much in her life. This was heart wrenching and healing all at the same time. Amy and Swift’s story is about the power of love over time, trauma, and tribulations. Be aware there is content concerning sexual assault, rape, and abuse.

I really loved Amy and Swift's story! Oh man, this book was full of angst from the beginning to the end. I loved how their story was told and ughh!! It was just perfect!!

Swift was such a great guy! I loved his sixteen year old self in Comanche Moon and I loved his thirty-one year old self in Comanche Heart! I honestly swooned for him! He never stopped fighting for Amy and her love. He faced humility but still fought on. He knew who he wanted and just went for it.

Amy, Amy, Amy...My heart really hurt reading about what had happened with her in Comanche Moon. I have no idea how she survived it at 12 YEARS OLD but she did because she had the healing love of Swift. She had a lot of self realization in this book and it made me love her so much more! We were used to the strong-willed and sassy Amy in Comanche Moon but that is not who you get in this book. Swift really worked so hard to get Amy to unveil her feeling for him.

My heart went out for this couple and ughhh!! I can't handle how sweet and wonderful their love was. A love that healed one's broken soul.

Here are some of my fav quotes because some just really got to me!

"I thought you didn't believe in heaven."
"Sure I do. Comanche heaven, your heaven, it's probably the same. The gods must keep Indians and you whites separated so we don't know we're up there together and start another war."
Amy wrinkled her nose. "That won't do. It wouldn't be heaven if I wasn't with you."

"My home is where you are. Please don't leave me Swift."
He groaned and grabbed her into his arms, hugging her so tightly she could scarcely breathe. "Leave you? Amy, love, I thought that was what you'd want. Leave you? It's be more like cutting out my heart."

Aren't they cute!!??

This was such a let down after the first book. Extremely slow for the first 400ish pages and then annoyingly fast the last hundred pages. These characters seem like shells of their former selves.

Curious if I should read indigo’s book, as she was my favorite character of this one..?

I loved this book too. Swift is so sexy and Amy what a journey to endure.

This is how i imagine Swift

The dialogue between them is entertaining and steamy.

I am so glad i discovered Catherine Anderson, another reason to love romance.

Personally I think this one is better than the first in the series.
