He drifted a little too often into the "what is this fe-male creature?" line of analysis for me to appreciate this study fully, not to mention how often his conclusions found themselves situated neatly (a little too neatly, quite frankly) along heteronormative lines.
It was also almost too casual, in a number of respects--I think that he was going for mass appeal, but the feel of the text as a whole suffers for it.
