In the Weeds is the second book in the Lovelight series and let me tell you it delivered.

This book includes second chance trope, Grumpy + Sunshine and small town romance which is a tick for me.

Beckett and Evie are the couple in this book which we do get introduced to in the first book. The first book we learn that Beckett is the head farmer for Lovelight farms and Evie is a social media influencer who goes around to different small towns to heard peoples stories and find the beauty in the small things.

I really love how we got to learn more about Beckett and his story with why he is so family originated. He will always be there for his family and friends in a heartbeat but I think he needed help realising that it was okay to ask for help for himself. I feel like Evie helped him understand that it was okay to ask for help and that it didn't make him less of a person. Evie helped him so much throughout this book and was there for him no matter what.

The connection their have with each other is out of this world and their love is so pure, my emotion's where all over the place when reading this book. Evie really did find herself and her happy in Lovelight. I will never stop recommending this book to anyone, it was be in my heart forever.

I didn't enjoy reading this book as much as Stella's book. But it was good. It was light story even though it made me chewing my nails out off anxiety of Beckett and Evie miscommunication. All I could do just screaming "talk you two! Talk!!"
Anyway, same as Stella's book, I loved the community, I loved the farms. Additionally, I loved the cats and the duck!
Layla's book is the next but I don't think I will immediately read it because I am still frustrated with Beckett and Evie.

This was a such a cute read and my first BK Morrison book! This book started off really strong but I fear that it started to fall off the momentum for me. I initially started this last year and stopped around pg 90 because I was getting bored and the story felt bland? The book didn’t grab me until halfway through  and it just wasn’t as consistent as I had hoped it to be. I felt as there some spark was missing within the story.

Evie and Beckett are interestingly better together than apart. I do like them as characters and surprisingly, a bit more mature than most than I’ve read in awhile. The 3rd act separation was merely an ick for me that could have been solved without a disappearance. I do love how tender and loving they are to each other without realizing. It makes their love beautiful and genuine. The mental health rep in the book was done with so much care and thoughtfulness, it highkey made me tear up. The townspeople, duck and cats will always have my heart in small town romances & they are the reason I did not DNF LOL.

Will be reading the next one! (:

Evie and Beckett met at a bar and are complete strangers. They end up having a nice weekend together and then go their separate ways. After a few months go by they run into each other again, but this time they need to decide if the universe brought them back together for a reason.

Evie is a social media influencer with a huge following and is in a point in her life where she’s questioning her career because she isn’t as happy as she used to be with being an influencer. Beckett is a farmer in a small town and willing to help Evie find her happy again.

This was such a nice little cozy small town romance read, and really fast paced and enjoyable.
