Ok

I will continue series as I want to see what happens. This book didn’t pull me in as much as Folsom. I was hoping Ares book was next.

Wow!! What else needs to be said… the story of Jackal and Phoenix is just as captivating as that of Folsom and Gwen! When read this quote, “Without the risk of getting hurt, there is no probability of falling in love,” I had to stop reading for a moment because it really spoke to me. After reading the last Chapter I was left with so many questions, I can NOT wait to see what answers Kasper will have for me in the next book!

Jackal > Folsom.

I was really disappointed with the first book of this series. There was super insta-love, women turning into sex-crazed maniacs in the mere presence of an End Man, and not enough character development to really get me invested in the story. But I persisted because this series is partly Tarryn Fisher so how could I not? I’m glad I continued because I did end up enjoying Jackal a lot.

Jackal enjoys his job as an End Man and he has a good time with it until he meets Phoenix Moyo. He is instantly charmed by her but she resists him, which is not something he’s used to. Their attraction is palpable and more believable than Gwen and Folsom’s. I liked that that Phoenix is her own person and has her own strengths apart from Jackal. She already plays a small part in the rebellion before she meets him, which eventually turns into a bigger part when she teams up with Jackal on a dangerous mission.

Overall, I liked this book a lot more than I did the first one. I felt like I was on the edge of my seat for a good majority of it. There are still a few cringeworthy moments where Jackal is forced to go to his appointments after falling for Phoenix but given the world this story takes place in, I have to remind myself that he doesn’t have a choice. We also do get a fair amount of Gwen/Folsom and are introduced to plenty of new characters that keep you wondering if we can trust them or not.

Damn. I love Jackal more than Folsom. Both the fictional character and the book (grins). I also find it less weird now than I've felt on reading the first one. Maybe because I already have the full grasp of the story and the flow of it. I also like Phoenix, the little thief. She sure is feisty! And thank god, because of her and Jackal, Gwen's baby has been returned. I'm just waiting for the big reunion with Folsom!!!

I am also now excited about Aries and the red head!!! But unfortunately, the next book is Kasper (sighs).

Tarryn and Willow sure have created a sexy, dystopian that should surely hype up readers. Move over Divergent and Hunger Games, The End Men is here to conquer!! 😂

The second book in the End Men series did not disappoint.
Thrust back into the world where women rule and the male population is low, we pick up where Folsom left off.
Phoenix is a dancer by day and a thief every other day. When she gets caught by the one and only Jackal they are both thrust into a world they didn't expect.
I loved both characters, again like Folsom. Phoenix and Jackal are strong and believe in the greater good, doing everything they can to help where they can.
I loved being back in the world that we left behind in Folsom, getting to see old characters in new ways and new characters that will definitely be in the rest of the series.
My only complaint about this book was that it ended.

This second installment did less for me in the romance department than Folsom did. I think that's becuase even though I understood Jackal was more than he seemed it was still difficult to connect with him. I did love Phoenix though, and I thought she was a lot like Gwen. Quiet and unassuming, but unlike Gwen she had been working against the social constructs of their society for alot longer. Gwen really shines in this book although you don't see anything from her perspective. Her strength and fierceness were amazing, and especially in regards to getting her baby back. Loved it 3.5 out of 5 stars.

I didn't like Jackal and Pheonix's story as much as Folsom and Gwen's. I didn't really believe either of them was fully supportive of the resistance until the very end.
