Well, silly me, I thought this was the complete collection of Binti, but that's actually kind of really exciting to find out! Binti is everything I've always wanted from a heroine in space, and I can't wait to see what happens next!

Very enthralling introduction to a new world. I loved Binto's voice and scrappiness. Moving right on to book 2.

This was a really nice easy listen I’ve not read a novella before and I would really recommend it for a short read. Of course if it were a novel I would say there were many things that could have been expanded on particularly some of the language used.

I am quickly becoming a fan of African sci-fi. Binti explores the ideas of alienation and difference with a very authentic voice - being different lets you approach problems from a different angle, and can ultimately lead to different solutions. As N.K Jemisin points out in her introduction Binti's differences are highlighted right from the start, but from an interesting perspective that is often lost on those of us with a different cultural upbringing.

This is a refreshing tale, highlighting the importance of communication and cultural respect. It feels very apt for the times.

Interesting world, but bit of a "character with magical abilities that are only just discovered thst happen to fill every plot challenge" trope

Interesting, quick little read.

I really enjoyed the audiobook narrator for this one. It’s really hit or miss for me when it comes to narrators, but Robin Miles killed it.

I always love a scifi with other sentient races, so that was an easy win. Did it need to be a novella series? Maybe not, but I’m into the world building and enjoying the ride. Overall, solid.
