Wow. The way the pieces all just fell together as the story went on was brilliant. I loved the world, and enjoyed the characters. I look forward to reading some more of this authors works!

O my god

This book is perfect. My soul is weeping i have ascended. Like The Stand, The Dark Tower, Battlestar Galactica and my purest childhood instincts wrote a book.

i oftentimes find that books with different perspectives fall flat for me; that the author can’t adjust their writing style enough to make it seem like it’s truly from different characters. Arnold did not have this problem; each of the characters had unique mannerisms & perspectives that made this a pleasure to read.

This book was really beautiful, and is honestly one of the best post-apocalyptic world novels I have ever read. There are fantasy aspects, which I typically don't enjoy all too much, but I have to say that it was done really well in The Electric Kingdom.
I wish I could reread this from the beginning.

The ending was pretty shocking and quite sad, though. I didn't expect the plot twist at the end.

This is a very weird book to read so soon after watching Station Eleven. So much resonance in the post apocalyptic landscape and sense of time. But I thought this was very well done! I liked the structure with the various perspectives, I liked the slow roll of info. I don’t want to venture too much into spoilers of other books but this also reminded me very strongly of the Dark Tower series by Stephen King in a way that truly wrecked me by the end of this book. Would definitely eagerly read more by this author!
