This volume is definitely still my favorite in the series. I really like how this volume focuses on Trellis and gives him the spotlight. This is also the one I’ve read the most times, also the art work here is especially good.

The story is just okay, but the artwork is still some of the best I've seen in graphic novels.

Really interested in all the things happening with the elf king and the other enemies (especially Max), and I can't wait to see how they'll influence the series in the volumes to come. Emily really grew as a storekeeper and as a person in this book, and finally learned to accept what--and who--she is, and give hope to the people of Alledia.
This volume really had one thing as its central theme: Hope. And I think that that was really good, to have something like that infuse a whole story. And yes, this theme will most likely continue on in the rest of the series.
Can't wait to jump in to the sixth volume (Escape from Lucien)!!!
