It has been more than a decade since I’ve sat down and really read the original stories of Lovecraft. While his ideas are masterful, I believe his execution and writing is subpar. I was genuinely surprised how difficult it was for me to finish such a short story. The writing style was not enjoyable, and did not flow well for my tastes. While I overall love his concepts and stories, I believe it will be some time before I dive back into his writing.
