I realized a few chapters into this book that it is about being your own most unreliable narrator. (We all are, sometimes, or maybe all the time. Luckily, we have our loved ones to spot us when we need it.) I enjoyed the whole Dreamer trilogy, but I think this one was my favorite.
What a beautiful thing it is to be alive, to be present, to struggle until you strive until you can smile without turning away to hide the joy. Ah! I love a really good epilogue! I’m buzzing from it. It’s so hard to tell the reader just enough while still leaving room for wondering. Harder still when it’s a finale not just for this series, but for the Raven Cycle too.

I love TRC too much to not like this book but I also love TRC too much to like this book if that makes sense. Essentially it's not what I wanted the a sequel series. I loved the Lynch brothers and Jordan Hennessey but couldn't care less about the other characters. I felt like the pacing was all over the place and Ronan didn't do much this book. Also I'll forever be salty for the lack of Gansey and his brief appearance in the epilouge doesn't make up for it. But the writing was beautiful. So many mixed feelings.

I postponed reading the last 50 or so pages for more than a week. Just because I couldn't get myself to finish a series that I've spent so much time with, that has meant a lot to me.
I can't help but feel a weird sense of nostalgia, loss but also fulfillment from this last book. Obviously, this new trilogy brought in a ton of new themes, characters and mysteries into the world of the Raven Cycle, so a lot also had to be tied up in the last book. I think Maggie did the best she could've done with it.
The epilogue was all I wanted, I just wanted a bit more from it! And when all conflict in the story was said and done, on one hand I couldn't help but feel like it wasn't fully finished. But knowing this world, that must've been intentional to some extent.
Lynch family, you'll live in my heart after this one <3

A very solid ending to the series, honestly far far better than TRC's ending because it actually felt conclusive and probable and the building up didn't fall flat with all the reveals. I would have enjoyed honestly a peek into Carmen and Nathan's life as well, to really grow to understand their bond and relationship because while I liked Carmen, I barely cared about that whole ordeal. The Moderators reveal was fucking insane though, props for that.
I do think overall, because of the amount of things that needed to be addressed, it felt incoherent at times, a bit messy to keep up with and I would have loved more Matthew POVs to understand his growth as well, I think he was left behind far too often, my darling son </3
LOVEDDD Jordan and Hennessy though, their continuous push and pull and how strained and yet strong their connection remained was beautiful and honestly, very realistic to how sisters tend to be, especially ones as intertwined as those two.
