Behind every exquisite thing that existed, there was something tragic.

The Picture of Dorian Gray was a book that turned out beyond my expectations. The book mainly focused on the psychology and mindset of the protagonist. It's needed to state that Oscar Wilde was one of the most unique authors I ever read about, the way he expressed his emotions and thoughts in his book was quite extraordinary. At some parts of the books I found myself severly disinterested yet I kept reading about and I probably owe that to the quotes of characters such as Harry. The story overall was plain and dull, what made the book to my likings was the deep interest it had to human brain and heart which are the nonexistent soul of individuals according to it. I dont think its a book worth reading a second time but it's one of the literature classics that makes you believe you would be missing out a lot if you hadn't read it.

I am in awe of the 2nd half of this book.

The first 100 pages were not particularly gripping to me although their contents were important later on, the whole time i read that 1st half I wanted to shoot a nail gun into my skull rather than read more Lord Henry blabber (man can run his mouth about absolutley nothing for a ridiculous amount of time)

But that 2nd half. Whether it was the less Lord Henry interactions or the plot twists I was hooked. Incredible and alot more dark and shocking than I expected, the ending was perfect to me.
