I have no idea why it took me so long to read this. I enjoyed it a lot but still took me forever to read it, when her other books have always only taken me a week tops. It must be that I'm still in mourning for my favorite character. Though a certain scene towards the end did make me forget about him. Only for a moment though.

I love this series so much. Kim Harrison puts so many details into her Hollows Series and it just draws me in every single book. As soon as I finished this book I had to jump right into the 9th book.... at 3:30 in the morning. Who needs sleep?
I really felt like Black Magic Sanction is going to be a fork in the road so to speak for Rachel. Is she going to abide by being a White Witch, or is she going to go play with the Demons? I don't think she can walk both lines for much longer. The series has been building up to this for a while, and I can't wait. Because how much time she's spending with Al, I'm really curious to see where that entire subplot goes.
Pierce is becoming one of my favorite characters, all through his pattern of speech does irk me from time to time. Especially when everything is "powerfully this" or "powerfully that." I can mostly look past it though because I want to read more about him.
I really recommend this series to anyone who loves a good paranormal action/adventure series. It's got great details, a nice sense of humor, a lot of background for all of the characters, and I really don't feel like there's ever a dull moment.

I like the change in her relationships with Al and Trent, but I find Pierce a bit annoying.

I have lost count of how many times I have read this book and series. It never disappoints. It if full of complicated relationships, magic, and evil. Rachel Morgan is just the woman to deal with it all as she bumbles through life.
