Excellent. It's geared towards women but there are some powerful nuggets men can benefit from.

When reading please acknowledge my grammar is not the best as I am dyslexic.

Another book I loved from the beginning. Some very serious yet ignored issues are addressed with a light humour. Every black woman, no everyone period needs to read this read, before, and throughout their career.

It’s helped me see so many different ways strategies and tactics I need to advance my career and that’s all the things I’ve done to hold it back.

I usually force myself to read books like this because I know it’s beneficial. But I’m generally enjoying reading this book. I just think the writing is perfect; the message is perfect; and delivery is perfect.

I love the writing style so much, it’s more like W conversation than reading a book, and you can you her passion and determination to change things in her words. She is amazing!!

Some very interesting information on not only women but women of color. This opened eyes both as good information for all women, and to women who are of color and those that are not and how to be aware....

I would guess I'm considered really early mid-career, so the majority of the book was a re-iteration of discussions I've had, either formally or informally. I think this would be a good reference for black and brown women who are recent grads or possibly switching careers. The topics in Chapter 8 has been discussed time and time again, but still need to be shouted from the rooftops at every opportunity! I will probably pass my copy on to a new grad in the future.

- this was a super helpful read about howto excel in corporate America as a black woman
- networking, workplace politics, interviewing, self investment/advocating, imposter syndrome and so many other important gems were highlighted in here
- I’m not a big fan of self help but this was so inspiring and helpful! Every black woman should read this
- I only docked a star bc there were a lot of pop culture references which I’m not a big fan of, but if that doesn’t bother you, I see no reason why you wouldn’t give this 5 stars
- highly recommend!! This is a unique book bc most career-based books about women aren’t written by black women & we have very different experiences
