Okay this starts out fine. Good egg wants everything to be good but you can't control everybody so egg leaves to find peace within and grow and heal from mistreatment from a bad carton. But then goes back to the mistreatment? My 6 year old asked why the egg went back if no one else changed and everyone was still being mean, good question. You can't inner peace your way out of abuse.  Now we just talk about this book as what not to do. Haven't read them all but the Bad Seed and the Smart Cookie are not as problematic.

I love this book! What a great way to teach kids that they don't have to be perfect. It also touches on the subject of being bullied and that they don't have to put up with that either. It shows the importance of being yourself, taking care of yourself, and not letting other individual's bad choices negatively effect you. I also love the illustrations!

The Good Egg teaches children about self-care.

Bad Seed was pretty good but The Good Egg was absolutely amazing!! I wish I had read this when I was a kid because I was high strung as heck and could have used the message that it's okay not to be perfect all the time.

About how wanting perfection in others can cause cracks, so make sure that take time for yourself and accept that you can not change others

I always love these books because they manage to break down very complex adulthood/general people problems into incredibly accessible, succinct and beautiful lessons.
