This was interesting because you start out thinking crap how did that happen and the more you learn the more you understand and then the more you go what the... it's fantastic. I love the characters, and the weirdness of her human thinking mixed with the fae world and finding out how useful her practical talents really are. I am now wondering how her mothers ended up with her though.

This book was just okay didn't really capture my intention didn't really stand out in any way to me. I feel like the author could have spent more time developing the world and the characters but I also I'm coming to understand that I'm not a fan of first person point of view narration so that may have led to a little bias for this book. Either way I will not be continuing with the series because I just wasn't able to get invested enough in the characters or the storyline

So you are taken from the human world, to take part on the Royal Selection on the land of the Fae. How could this be you are only human, your mothers are mages and you can make dresses (that is the only thing she has going for her). But when presented with challenges our FMC keeps surprising everyone including herself. And what about the prince there is something that calls to her but also frightens her!! This is a slow burn romance, well written and character development. Need to get my hands on book 2 because that ending let me hanging!!! I think I found my new obsession.

The selection but with Fae. She's plucked from the human world and is a seamstress by trade but can make magic dresses which is super cool and unique. The trials are interesting but I don't know the rules to them and how they work so interested to see what the second book is like!

Welcome to the fantasy version of the Bachelor.

While I'm not a fan of the show, I did actually like Taken. Like might even be a bad word because I ended up devouring this book. In it, you will meet Dahlia. She's a human living a material world. Well, wait - that's wrong. She deals with material in the world. Yes, she's a seamstress and makes clothes for mages. A bunch of asshole mages.

Then one day, she's kidnapped and thrown into a trial to win the prince's hand. Long story short, she doesn't belong in this world because she's human. When they find out, well, it won't be good. At all. So, she's thrown into these trials with zero preparation. The only good thing she has is Gullie, her pixie.

It's interesting that no one knows who she is and I'm speaking human-wise. Then again, what the prince said at the end has me confused. I'm wondering if Dahlia is her real name or if she truly is part Fae. Or full Fae. Honestly, I have so many questions because we don't have all the information.

In the end, I'm so intrigued by fate and destiny. Mostly because the prince keeps freaking saying it to her. Like what is up guy. Tell us the truth already. I need answers and I can't wait to get my hands on the sequel.
