When I was 13 I saw a quote from this book and thought it sounded cool, so I made a note and said I'd get around to reading it eventually. Now, at 31, (I've been busy) I pick it up and learned that 13 year old me unintentionally planted the seed of a dead dove do not eat tree. I was mostly bored, ngl I expected it to be hornier.

Utterly disturbing in a most fascinating way. I wish Mirabeau hadn’t skipped straight from the decision to follow Clara to two years later, but this was never meant to be a plot or character driven piece. It’s morality driven and message driven. Philosophical. Horrifyingly descriptive.
