I didn’t think I would care about Bane’s story and I didn’t really until about 45% of the way through this book.
POOR JESSE should have been the description of this book. this girl went through it! I did love that she saved herself in the end.
Jesse & Bane were perfect for each other and their relationship, even though it came about in a screwed up way, was precious. though it started out with him trying to save her, she ended up saving him too.

I read this series (4 books) in a month span I like the series my favorite book out of them is rukus gave that one 5 stars. If you are wanting to read this series go for. I will say it does have some trigger warnings that the author doesn’t mention in the beginning, but besides the TW the series is good to read

I feel like I've been waiting forever for this book when L.J Shen gave us a little taste in the back of Scandalous and boy did this lady deliver. I normally don't have the book boyfrend's I wouldn't have the space for just 1, but for Bane and his lying, manwhoring, conning ass I'll make an exception, because unless your dead your heart won't be able to withstand him and his sexy smirking ass and let's talk about Jesse/ Snowflake his nickname for her. This girl is just beyond broken from what happened to her 2 yrs ago and she's shut herself off from the world and Bane has 6 million dollar reasons of why he can't get involved with her due to the contract her stepdad & he have going the only thing is he didn't count on Jesse. This book bring's out all the feel's and talk about some frakin hot as hell sex damn that was hot. I know I want some more Bane & his snowflake.

I voluntarily reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy of this book.

I don't even know where to start on reviewing this book. I just discovered LJ Shen this year and am now obsessed, but these characters......man. Jesse and Bane put me through the ringer and I came out on the other side with such a book hangover I had to dive right back in. Since Bane is not a part of the original group in these series, I thought I would just read it to get through the whole series, but I was blown away and quickly given a new favorite.

Bane is not your typical hero. Actually - he's pretty far from it. He is everything we have been taught to stay away from a first glance / thought. Throughout the book though, you find out that isn't all there is to him. You can be the guy to stay away from - and STILL be one of the best hero's / boyfriend's / men I have read about.

Jessie's story isn't anything to be taken lightly. Her story helps to show that no matter what has happened to you in the past, it IS possible to live your life. Fair warning here though - this book does contain some pretty intense triggers, so make sure you are aware of that before going in. The first chapter takes you right into it, so be prepared. If you can get through that though, you will NEVER be disappointed with this book!!

Dirty bad boy Bane

Bane just gave my Dean a run for his money. Bane is a bad boy on the outside with a super sweet spot for the one(s) he loves. Jesse has been through so much trauma with the scars to prove it. What starts out as a deal behind Jesse’s back turns in to so much more. I couldn’t put this book down. I NEEDED to know what was on the next page. Dean has always been my favorite from this series - but he may have been knocked off the top spot. Loved this book so much.

Bane, Bane, Bane! Or should I say Roman?!

You are a sight for sore eyes. You are the dirty nasty thoughts running through peoples heads. The sexed up epitome of every filthy dream they have...regardless of gender. You are the dirty little "not so secret" of Todos Santos. But you are even more than the rumors, the truths, and the lies, you are an awakening.

She wasn't living. She wasn't doing much of anything. You forced her to live in the light. You made her open her eyes. You gave her the opportunity to breathe fresh air. You are more than everyone else thinks you are. So tell me Bane, what are you going to do to get the girl?

Not really a spoiler- HE does what needs to be done. He does it his way. And you will not be disappointed. Watch out for curve balls though because I got beaned and couldn't stop giggling.

Survivor

“In this story the princess saves herself”. Wow, this is such a true statement! My heart broke when reading about the horrible things that happened to Jesse. My heart also broke when reading about the way Bane viewed himself. I was beyond ecstatic when these two wounded people found their way through their pain and into each other. This is a story of survival and love. LJ Shen topped her writing game with this book. It is very hard to write a series (even though you can read these as standalones-they are richer read in order) and have the 5th book be even better than the 1st book. It was magic watching Bane find himself as he helped Jesse come back to life. My favorite line in a fabulous book was “What is the antonym of hate? ..... Jesse.” I highly recommend this book! Loved it.
