Dangerous Women by Hope Adams was brilliant. She was inspired by the real Rajah quilt that was made by convicted women being transported to Tasmania is 1868.
I loved that the book was told from the viewpoint of a couple different characters. It also kept me guessing as to who the perpetrator could be. I hated putting the book down because I was so drawn in by the plot.

Overall an engaging read describing the sea voyage and 100 odd days on the sea with no living thing in sight. Reading about the convict women and their past lives gave the novel a human touch and made it all the more intriguing.

This account of a ship full of female convicts sailing to Australia is based on real events, with the addition of a fictional murder aboard. The close quarters of the prisoners are aptly described, and a general sense of their plight is conveyed as largely victims themselves of either men or society. The cast of characters is too large to focus on more than a few, including the matron who has the women create a quilt, a convict sailing under an assumed name, and the murder victim herself. The investigation drags out a bit with a blur of witnesses saying the same thing, culminating in a neat if expected twist.
