A Royal Flush!!!

This book was absolutely everything I expected and so much more. Alicia's story was exciting and compelling. I was completely engrossed in Cree's moral dilemma and the unexpected dynamics of their relationship was a refreshing surprise. CCJ delivered the bag with this one, an instant favorite and an immediate reread!!! šŸ˜šŸ¤©šŸ˜šŸ¤©

This was soooo good!

This was a romance, thriller, action, and suspense all rolled into one book and I loved every page of it!

I loved the beginning of this book, but then more things started happening, and I started to lose interest.

Alicia has a security company but can’t find the person she’s looking for. Eventually, she goes to Cree to ask for a simple favour, but he ends up being interested in the case too.

I really liked Alicia and Cree’s relationship/interactions at the very beginning. I really liked how Alicia could basically do anything, and while Cree was also skilled, I mostly liked how he contrasted Alicia’s sternness/coldness. I definitely need to find more books with this dynamic. However, after some things happen their relationship changes and while I liked how things ended, it wasn’t what I was hoping for.

One of my favourite scenes was when Alicia goes to get information from someone she used to know. Finally, a character with her description acts like it.

I liked Kingston and his interactions with Alicia. I also liked Daniel and Angela, even though they weren’t shown much. I really liked Vivica as I thought that she was funny, but she disappears quickly.

The plot was fine, but I was losing interest as the book went on, because it also felt a bit like Alicia’s personality changed.

This book started off really well, and then ended up being just fine. I might still try other books by this author, probably not from this series since it doesn’t seem like something I’d be interested in.

4.5 āļøā€¦ I loved the suspense aspect of this story. I love that even though this has a romance perspective to it, I enjoyed this story. Ace is amazing, But that Cree was something else. He was a good guy and loved how he was loyal. CCJ did a great job with her storytelling with this one.
