So, this is where Percy Jackson kids end up? I can’t say it’s that bad.
This book is a 5/5 stars for me, probably because I don’t want to find fault in it. The storytelling was beautiful, and Madeline Miller managed to make her characters so messed up, but still so whole. (Also that endinggggg)

I'm honestly at a loss for words. I have so many nixed feelings about the ending. It took me a while to finish the book. The writing is so easy to visualize. I'd give anything to see this turned into a movie. Amazing work, truly a wonder.

I like this book however I don't think it lived up to the hype. I found that sometimes parts of the story were a bit unnecessary and lost but I really enjoyed the feminist undertones and the ending although it was a bit weird.

This book is like reading an epic and beautiful poem.

I really liked this book mainly because of my little obsession with Greek mythology.

Circe is a great character and even a better main character. What I really loved about her was her character development and how sometimes not everything in the story was moving around her (which is ironic considering that’s she is our main girl) and she could take more of a viewer position.

She has her long story taking place in an even longer and bigger story which h I find fascinating.

I felt like a child at Christmas every time a myth or a mythical creature made an appearance in the chapters. I was so excited that it’s embarrassing.

And all of these other characters were very well written and interesting. I despised every single one of her siblings so much that it almost hurt .

This author has a very beautiful way with words, she truly is talented and relatable (I have the same obsession with ancient Greek culture, so I hear you girl)

If there is something I didn’t liked about this book is how long and dense it can get at times. It took me longer that I usually takes me to finish a book.

I know I sound like a fangirl, but this topics are really enthusiastic to me.

Read you all later.

Probably more of a 3.75 for me, but rounding up to four! I loved the first half of this book, but I found I really struggled getting through the last hundred or so pages. I don’t think this was the books fault though, I think I’d been reading so much in the lead up to it that I burned out a little on the tail end and just needed a break that I didn’t give myself. I thought this book was incredible though, it had great feminist themes and I loved Circe’s witchcraft. I think I would have benefited from a stronger grasp on Classical Greek mythology going into this, but Madeline Miller does do a really great job giving you what you need without bogging down the story with too much info. The ending really was great too.
