It's all just rape, having children, war and gods. Idk, I'm just tired of the same theme going round and round. This is just the Greek bible. Although this is a not very heavy read for those wishing to explore some of the Greek myth.
Maybe my experience was somewhat dampened by the Librivox version changing narrators for each part - some of them were absolutely brilliant, but some were dreadful! (I'm actually convinced that a few people did not record anything at all, but did Google's text-to-speech instead.)

Actually still a good introduction to mythology. Very readable to the modern reader, although that may depend on your translation.

In my opinion, Ovid wasnt the greatest poet of his contemporaries, but he is definitely exceptional and if you like mythology then you'll love it. He's certainly got an imagination....

i personally believe ovid should never have been allowed to write about women, every other page (every single page more like) had me wanting to weep at what the women went through at the hands of men.
i had read this before and am familiar with most of the stories and could easily recite them to others however ask me to summarise this book and i'd be at loss for words because so many stories just happened and kept happening.
