Metamorphoses

I’m familiar with the ancient myths but it’s always fun to read new versions from different authors. And the element of the metamorphosis across the poem is so interesting, culminating in Pythagoras’ speech in the last book.

Thoroughly enjoyed this but next time, I’ll try a different translation. The Oxford World Classic’s one is very dry and tastes like a potato chip but it was still a good potato chip

I did write this review at 3 am after finishing this book so yes this review is completely nonsensical

I was told this was the most accessible translation of Metamorphoses, and I could believe it, but it doesn't make the source anything I want to read.

Switched to different translation

she's 5 stars to me because i reference these stories in basically every english essay and it's always gotten me an A. thanks ovid.

Atmospheric, haunting, sometimes romantic and sometimes messed up. While definitely not for everyone, this collection can never be described as forgettable.
