I found this book to be a quiet one. I wasn't able to follow through its verse in my daily commute or during noisy flights, or listening to music, but its pages sprouted to me in silence, as the subtle poetry demanded full attention to draw me into its world.
Ovid's verse is rich with color and portrayal of human nature, light and logical with expression, swift yet powerful. He lays down for us a thread to follow, and brilliantly weaves the mythical narrative, leading us from the creation of the world and the fall of mankind, through the heroic age of Greece, all the way to the verge of history - the rule of Caesar Augustus, the first emperor of Rome.

- Cinyras and Myrrha
