An interesting look at our current obsession with social media and the drab possible future.

The big themes are a little trite (oh, are we too online? you don't say?), but the character arcs and relationships really pulled me in. I stayed up late to finish it, so that's a solid rec from me.

This novel started out strong. And it continued strong too! I really enjoyed the first 2/3-ish of the story and was eager to see where it was headed, how the two narratives would meet. Unfortunately, the end of the book seemed to drag on slowly. Characters and side-plots were introduced for seemingly little reason. The conclusion was unsatisfying and anti-climactic.

The timeline didn’t quite work for me either. I wish the events of 2016 had taken place in a year not yet known to readers.

Overall, this was fun though! It’s light and easy to read (but it’s also light on substance, at times). I enjoyed both viewpoints, though my opinion on whose chapters I looked forward to more did flip about half-way through.

I really enjoyed this book through the early to middle chapters, but felt the ending fizzled out a bit.

Very suspenseful and thought provoking, however the ending fell a little flat to me. Definitely worth the read though!

There are so many great reviews on this book so I was excited to dive into it.
Sadly, i am in the minority I’m sure, but it didn’t do it for me. I found the first 1/3 of the book confusing. Took a while for all the characters to develop for me and understand the connection between them all.
The futuristic writing was good. Imaginative and made you think hmmm yep, that could happen.
But the storyline itself....

Ugh literally find me a book where I don’t cry like a baby at the end. Idk why it took me so long to get through this book because it’s now my favorite to 2020. Maybe because it hit a little close to home and maybe I just needed a good cry because I’m on my period but ugh I have no many thoughts I need to talk to someone about this. And I’m still crying.
