I had higher expectations for this book, hoping for an enjoyable reading experience, but unfortunately, it fell short. While it was intriguing to delve into the lives of characters like McGonagall, Lupin, Trelawney, and Kettleburn, who are not often in the spotlight like Harry, Ron, and Hermione, the anthology provided some interesting insights. We got to learn about their formative years, their time at Hogwarts, and their involvement in the war against Voldemort. Rowling's reflections on these characters added another layer of interest.
However, despite the value of the information provided, the anthology fell short in terms of storytelling. The delivery of the content was rather dry and lacked the narrative excitement that one would expect. Instead of engaging stories, it felt more like reading factual entries on Wikipedia. The collection had the potential to offer captivating narratives, but unfortunately, it failed to deliver. It left readers longing for more engaging storytelling and a deeper exploration of the characters' experiences.

I really liked getting the stories of McGonagall and Lupin's lives -- although I wish somehow these were written in novel form rather than in these short digests. Still, a lovely little tidbit for Potter fans.

I love this collection of shorts that give more insight into some of my favorite characters. I remember reading some about Professor McGonagall on Pottermore, but it was nice to delve deeper into her. And all the stuff on Remus! Makes me want to cry.

This was my pick for the O.W.L.s reathathon - the potions subject (Shrinking solution: book under 150 pages). A fun little read - especially McGonagalls back story was so nice to read

I needed a pick me up after the last couple books I've read and this was perfect! It gave me all the feels!! It was nice to learn more about Professor McGonagall and Lupin. J.K. Rowling gives us a more in-depth look, a mini-history if you will, of a few of the beloved characters from the Harry Potter stories. This Is Such a short book that I am not sure if it can be added to the number of the books read in the year, or to a challenge.
