This story is told from the pov of three women who are all dating the same guy,  Joseph Carter. They have never met, nor have any connection with each other except all being stood up by Joseph on Valentine's Day.

Siobhan is a headstrong, independent Life Coach afraid of commitment due to having her heart broken before.

Miranda is a tree surgeon who is seen as one of the guys by those she works with.

Jane, a timid girl with no confidence in herself, volunteers in a local charity shop and has a past that threatens to catch up with her.

What is it with Joseph Carter that makes all these women want to fall in love with him even when he keeps letting them down?

The characters were all very likeable and I thought the plot twist was very clever. I had no idea the story was going in this direction but I loved it. Some very sad moments that left me reaching for the tissues by the end. Overall a light-hearted rom-com with a clever twist.

This so was flipping good!! This is really more a mystery than a romance I feel, even though romance is a key part of the story.

There’s a lot of underlying themes about grief and mental health that was unexpected but handled with care.

The mystery of Joseph Carter kept me intrigued. At times though I was getting a little frustrated on how there were more questions than answers as the story got going that was I was beginning to lose interest a few times. I’m really glad I stuck with it, especially as I got to buddy read it with a friend, which I found helpful to keep going (it was fun coming up with theories as to what was happening, with my theory being it was a whole “Time Traveler’s Wife” situation). The more the story progressed though and pieces started to come together, the results broke my heart.

This is really a book you have to go into blind because just giving the smallest detail or reaction is a spoiler on its own. I will say though, read it and read it to the end. It all comes to together quite beautifully.

Another good easy read from Beth. I didn't see what the plot twist was going to be and I think it's best to go in blind without knowing the plot so it doesn't get revealed. Felt like the ending was slightly rushed though.
