Another good easy read from Beth. I didn't see what the plot twist was going to be and I think it's best to go in blind without knowing the plot so it doesn't get revealed. Felt like the ending was slightly rushed though.

i've only given beth o'leary books 5 stars and this one is no different. i love the way the author writes female characters and their stories, it always leaves me in awe. the writing style of both the dialogue and scenes is also fantastic.

It may be that it was a very timely read but I thought that it was an absolutely gorgeous book and the way in which the story was told just added an extra layer of intrigue and interest.

I loved this. It's such a unique storytelling technique, and I had fun formulating my theories along the way. I loved the ending in spite of (or perhaps because of) the tears. More than any romantic relationship, though, I loved the friendships. We should all have people like this in our lives.

I think the most frustrating thing about Joseph (and the whole story), is how bloody supportive and likeable he is. All the characters are fantastic, but I was so angry about wanting to love Joseph. I could not work out how things could possibly end for the first half of the book. But I should have trusted O'Leary to have plans.

The plotting in this is utter genius. Even once I'd worked out how the complex strands wove together, there were more surprises and connections that I absolutely loved.

It also devastated me; this is the third Beth O'Leary I've read, and they're all so good at finding a line between the emotional and the joyous. But this was particularly heartbreaking, I think I'm still reeling.

Despite that, though, I finished it feeling uplifted and wishing it would go on just a little longer. My favourite of O'Leary's so far and she is absolutely an auto-buy author for me.
