I really wanted to like this, and while I enjoyed bits and pieces of it, overall it was a let down.
It started out interesting but quickly lost me. Extremely character driven with not much plot to speak of, which is fine in some circumstances, but the drawn-out dialogue was exhausting.
At one point the main characters got into an argument and I swear to god it lasted 20 pages. SO DIALOGUE HEAVY.
The relationships in the book were cute. Friendship and romantic alike, but they seemed a bit fabricated/fake/out of touch. Even for fiction. Everyone is very touchy-feely and wayyyy too nice.
Zero diverse rep in the areas of race and body type. This is a tiresome issue. I didn’t read the first two books in this series but I heard there isn’t diversity in those either. Do BIPOC people not exist in this world?
No shocks or climax points, except for the sexual ones L M A O
The one big thing it has going for it is the fact that the character development is pretty solid. The two main characters deal with a lot of heavy emotions and do a good job communicating expectations and boundaries and seem to heal together.
Def would have rated a bit higher if I hadn’t been so bored during certain parts and if there was more diversity and an unfolding plot that involved more than just a few trips with friends. It wasn’t that the book was bad. It simply wasn’t exciting or memorable.
side note: I read this as an ARC and hope it has since undergone some editing because there were some pretty obvious grammatical errors I noticed.

Olivia is offered the chance to be the last minute wedding planner for Brendon and his fiancé Annie after a mishap that destroys their former venue. The last thing she expected was her ex friend and fling Margot to be friends of the bride and groom. Now Olivia has to navigate not only the perfect wedding, but her growing feelings for Margot. Will everything go off with a hitch, or will it be an absolute disaster?
Where do I start with this masterpiece of a book? The characters I absolutely love. I related to both Olivia and Margot in completely different ways. Olivia is a lot like me in that we both overthink and have anxiety attacks about things we don't know about. This was reflected a lot in her inner dialogues but also dialogues with other characters, and I felt myself really panicking with her. Meanwhile, I related a lot to Margot because of her struggle with abandonment and the constant feeling of being left out and that her friends will leave her. I have a massive fear of missing out, so I think Margot's portrayals of it was pretty accurate.
Not only that, but Olivia and Margot, after rushing through the rough patch, actually have a pretty healthy relationship? There is a struggle at the beginning with miscommunication and I was so scared it would fall into that trope with them having to confess their emotions. But it went SO MUCH BETTER and I'm so glad that it didn't. The story took a lot of good turns and I really love what Bellefleur did with them. It really fleshed out the characters and also didn't make this a heavily cliché story as a result.
Some of the other characters I feel had much minor roles, such as Darcy and Annie, and I know that they are in the other books but I wish we saw a bit more of them in the story. I did love Elle's role as close friend to Margot throughout the story and think she was a pretty good character. I wasn't too much of a fan of Brendon however, but that's probably because his personality is just big in comparison to the others. Maybe if I read the other books I may come to like him a bit more.
Count Your Lucky Stars is a romantic, queer and adorable story that you can easily read in a day. This story warmed my gay little heart, and will make you want to have an Olivia or Margot in your life, because I sure as hell do.
I received a copy of this book as an e-ARC from NetGalley. Any and all thoughts and opinions are my own.

- Alert! Queer second chance friends to lovers! What a joy this addition to an already wonderful series is. Bellefleur is excellent and creating a gentle environment but still having electric energy between her characters.
- And whew, is this book spicy! I was beginning to fear that all mainstream F/F romances were going to forever have only one or two brief love scenes. Enter COUNT YOUR LUCKY STARS, where Margot and Olivia hit the ground running and never stop.
- I do love a "these dummies need to admit they're in love" story, though this one may verge too much on "just have a conversation already" territory for some. Thank goodness they have friends to help them out (all beloved characters from the previous books)!

Im crying this series of romances has such a chokehold on me. I love every single character in here. Margot and Olivia are so GROSSLY soft and cute it hurts my heart. I loved seeing all the previous characters play a major role in the books. Since they're a tight knit friend group they weren't just relegated to cameos which was so nice.
Alexandria, maam, if you could write forty more that would be nice!!!

However, I think her works painfully lack diversity (besides the queer rep of course). I would kill for some POC/trans/disabled/Jewish/mentally ill rep in this world. It feels a little too "picture perfect" cis white able-bodied Hallmark movie for me.
