This was overall a cute read and I only have one major critique point (which basically influenced my whole view on the book) but let's start with the really important stuff.
 • Taylor Swift's »august« was absolutely the soundtrack to their past and what the book starts with and that is a fact.
 • My imagination could not comprehend, that Olivia was taller than Margot.
The critique:
 • There was a conversation, the one where they cleared up their past misunderstandings, their miscommunications and (wrong) assumptions. But the whole conversation ended rather abruptly and without really solving everything and also a little without warning (reminder: this is my opinion). I was sitting there in tears while they'd apparently had already made up and... It felt so anticlimactic. Like this whole worked up to this and then it was just. Abrupt. For me, it destroyed the whole mood and vibe of the book. The author could've made this so epic and heart wrenching because it had so much potential, but no... So that frustrated me and made me a little sad as well.

Tropes:
Second chance, friends to lovers

Triggerwarning/ content warnings:
Toxic relationship, emotional abuse, gaslighting

Mood Songs:
Taylor Swift - »august« (duh)

I found the pacing a little off in some parts, but overall enjoyable.

Im crying this series of romances has such a chokehold on me. I love every single character in here. Margot and Olivia are so GROSSLY soft and cute it hurts my heart. I loved seeing all the previous characters play a major role in the books. Since they're a tight knit friend group they weren't just relegated to cameos which was so nice.

Alexandria, maam, if you could write forty more that would be nice!!!

Yet again Bellefleur has written another fantastic queer romcom! This book gave me all the feels, with the second chance at love trope. I also adored that you can either read this book as a one off or you can choose to read her two other books in the series, written in the stars and hang the moon.

All the characters are so lovable, yet are flawed in beautiful ways. I enjoyed every minute of this spicy cute rom com.

Alexandria Bellefleur is so consistent in delivering sweet, cookie-cutter romances. She's easily a go-to author if I'm looking for a straight-forward spicy sapphic romance. (Her spicy scenes are good good.) I also love the complexity of the growth the characters go through over the course of the novel and it is shown so well through their conversations and the way they approach their relationships with others.

However, I think her works painfully lack diversity (besides the queer rep of course). I would kill for some POC/trans/disabled/Jewish/mentally ill rep in this world. It feels a little too "picture perfect" cis white able-bodied Hallmark movie for me.
