Started Quicksilver last year but couldn’t get into it—picked up the audiobook recently and I’m so glad I did. The narration, especially Fisher’s VA, was amazing (blushing levels: high). The world-building is rich but easy to follow, and I loved the variety of creatures without feeling overwhelmed. Saeris is fierce, Carrion’s humor was perfect, and the whole cast was beautifully written. Can’t wait for book two and more Kingfisher!

Dare I say this is THE fantasy romance of 2024?!?! Listen booktok is sketchy to say the least, many books are hyped that most definitely should not be, but this one?? This one earned it. I was skeptical at first, a little slow to appreciate Saeris and Fisher but it all came together beautifully. The side characters were amazing (I’m looking at you Carrion and Lorreth) the magic system and gods and political landscape, all epic. I devoured the last half of this book and cannot wait for book 2.

It was pretty good. It felt kinda slow for being such a long book.
