I found Quicksilver interesting enough to keep listening, mostly because the audiobook narrators are excellent and bring the characters to life. There are also a few twists at the end that I enjoyed.

The romance felt hollow and unearned. I didn’t understand why the main characters wanted to be together at the beginning and there was no chemistry or slow build-up. The story kept me engaged, but the relationship did not feel convincing.

The plot felt very derivative of ACOTAR, and some parts were confusing, for example, one character disappeared for most of the book without explanation, only to reappear near the end.

I really enjoyed the part where Saeris speaks to the gods. That felt fresh and original and added an interesting layer to the story.

Overall, the audiobook is worth listening to and kept me engaged  but it’s not the best romantasy book, especially if you’re used to reading Sarah J Maas.

DID NOT FINISH: 30%

There was nothing to like about the female character and she was horny as soon as she made eye contact with another being she is disgusted by.

Really well written, loved the world building, refreshing to see a strong FMC, and enemies (or begrudging allies) to lovers is my favourite trope. My only issue is the ending,
but it does seem to be the norm in romantasy involving fae for the female lead to change species and also be the chosen one
so I was prepared for it at least 😂

If you are going through the book and not getting the hype… just keep reading. Promise! It’s worth it!(especially the last 20%)
A Romantasy full of action from beginning to end, and the most important part, that made it worthy of 5 ⭐️’s, it didn’t end in a cliffhanger! Of course it left the story kinda “open”, with you wanting to know what will happen to the villains and how the heroes will get their happily ever after, but they won the battle and, most importantly no one that matters DIED!
I am waiting excitedly to read the next one, but not suffering from anxiety because this writer was nice and ended this plot!
