I read this in about 2 days. There are similarities to other fantasy books as far as characters go, but I enjoyed the twists that the book takes you through. I can't wait to see where the second book will take these characters.

I found Quicksilver interesting enough to keep listening, mostly because the audiobook narrators are excellent and bring the characters to life. There are also a few twists at the end that I enjoyed.

The romance felt hollow and unearned. I didn’t understand why the main characters wanted to be together at the beginning and there was no chemistry or slow build-up. The story kept me engaged, but the relationship did not feel convincing.

The plot felt very derivative of ACOTAR, and some parts were confusing, for example, one character disappeared for most of the book without explanation, only to reappear near the end.

I really enjoyed the part where Saeris speaks to the gods. That felt fresh and original and added an interesting layer to the story.

Overall, the audiobook is worth listening to and kept me engaged  but it’s not the best romantasy book, especially if you’re used to reading Sarah J Maas.
