I really REALLY loved the new concept this book gave us, it wasn't a standard kind of world.
I liked that she was the key that his world was missing, and that she has fallen in love with that world and Kingfisher.
I am very hopeful for Brimstone, which I have already pre-ordered lol, especially cause I want her to fucking take out Undying Queen!
Also, who doesn't love Onyx?? He's so damn cute!

Crazy amount of world building. Incredible writing. The four stars is because I enjoy less blood and gore in my books, and calling it ichor doesn’t make it better. I hope we get some time with the main characters together in the next book.

DNF at 35% —sorry to my friends that love this book! I couldn’t get into it. I’ve been bored since the start. “Hungry, needy little bitch in heat” wtf?! The conversations are sooo cringey, the characters aren’t doing anything for me and the storyline has me falling asleep. I tried reading on my kindle and audiobook, both failed to keep my attention
Romance was forced and lacked foundation. Lots of non-consent stuff (and not related to sex, which might be sexy).
